amminal’s self-titled debut features a five-piece ensemble centered around the songs of guitarist and singer Philip Murphy (Broken Hips, Patrick Phelan). Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, amminal play spacey, pastoral folk and psychedelic rock songs about witches, moths, nature, humans, sleep and sleeplessness.
In addition to Murphy, the band features Pippin Barnett on drums, percussion (Curlew, Orthotonics, Famous Actors From Out Of Town, Zarove), Adam Hopkins on upright bass (Crickets, Laura Ann Singh’s Fracas Quintet, Tomeka Reid, Out of Your Head Records), Stephen Williams on guitar, vocals (Paul Watson, Happy Lucky Combo, Zarove) and Bryan Hoffa on guitar, synth, banjo, vocals (Bells On Trike, Broken Hips, Weird Mob, Heart Pines).
