Happy Thunder by Andy Cahan

Happy Thunder is an album of 21 pieces played on multiple instruments by Andy Cahan.

Songs of the Chinese New Year celebration are the featured genre. The collection also includes pop songs of the stage and screen of 1930s-1960s Hong Kong and Shanghai, Taiwanese and Cantonese folk and pop tunes, mid-century compositions from the PRC, and melodies from the far western province of Xinjiang.

These experimental adaptations use a range of combinations, from full blown harmonica bands to banjo and guitar duets, and string bands with fiddles, banjo, and guitar.
