‘cause i started working on it absolutely ages ago and the whole concept is supposed to be – sorry for voicenoting you but you know it’s nice to be able to talk to someone about it who is in the knowledge – because it’s lo-fi songs of millennial queer monotony is the premise behind it and me using the guitar which i can’t really play um so all of the songs like once i wrote them i would just record them and then if i made any mistakes then i was just like right well they stay in because the whole premise was music is so overproduced and so clean now and whatever happened to all of those dirty myspace demos that you used to steal off the internet and absolutely treasure even though they didn’t sound the best. they were just like the most incredible songs or like live recordings of punk songs of your mates’ bands where i would just listen to them like over and over again because that was the only like versions of the songs but then some of them i’m like well it is actually pretty decent like the songwriting is actually kind of good and the lyrics are decent so do i go back in and re-record some stuff but then that kind of that moves away from what the ethos of the project was which was like ‘they get what they get’ but then also i recorded it on really shitty microphones and i’m like... does it sound too bad? should i - should i have recorded it to sound better and then fucked it up because instead it’s like i’ve recorded it and it already sounded fucked up and then i’ve made it more fucked up and i’ve just kind of - i’ve really lost my way with trying to like – the mastering process, i suppose. so yeah i - but i - i like the idea of being like messy and chaotic and like ‘oh who gives a fuck’ do you know what I mean? [inhales] and then who knows if someone came along and was like 'hey these are good songs we should make them better' i’d be like okay well you play them – you play them because i don’t actually know what i’m doing um i just like the songwriting i don’t like the mastering bit that’s tedious. it’s shit. anyway sorry to brain dump on you love you night!
