A tribute to woodworking guru Norm Abram - nice guy, master carpenter and maker of complex woodworking jigs - so I thought I'd make him a complex "musical jig" in 15/8 time with dove-tailing sections. Composed on the flight to Kolkata to pick up my "jawāri" cello (2008).

Barry started musical life as a pop drummer, and now is a composer of folk. classical and ...whatever. He is a cellist in Celtic, American, Swedish, and English folk (Martin Simpson, William Coulter, Olov Johannesson), and cellist in Indian classical groups such as the Anoushka Shankar Project.
Barry studied music at the San Francisco Conservatory of music, and then as a student of Ravi Shankar.
