Lost & Found by Pat Bedeau, Rona Ray
Bedfunk are pleased to welcome someone to the label, who has been on their radar for a few years now. The magnificent Rona Ray! Label boss Pat Bedeau has been playing her songs in his sets since coming across her several years ago. So it is a great honour to add such calibre to the Bedfunk roster.
Our mission has always been to work with the best musicians and vocalists from around the globe and we have gone to the very top. Rona Ray was the number one selling vocalist and came in at staggering No.32 best selling artist overall on Traxsource for 2023 out of 700,000 artists, which is simply amazing. She is one of the hardest working singer-songwriters, who writes amazing songs and has a truly unique delivery style, very active on social media with many performances in many different genres.
Rona teams up with label boss Pat Bedeau on Lost & Found, with it's crisp drums from Pat and Ziggy Funk's rich dreamy chords before the rolling bass line drops to introduce Rona's silky vocals. She has such a distinctive voice and range of expression, it carries this one to another level.
Russian born Rona Ray, is a singer songwriter, who is a bit of an enigma. You will struggle to find a bio as such online, but you will find a multitude of works ranging from her album with Ezel from The Dominican Republic, which came out earlier in 2024 after several successful collaborations between the pair. You will also find her vocals on Chiffron Zoo, another project of hers where she teams up this time with a pair of producers, who she met during lockdown and started creating together. She has already worked with many of the great producers including DJ Spen, Terry Hunter, Sean McCabe, Atjazz and many more. You will also find a collaboration with Prunk, which has clocked up a staggering million plus plays on Spotify released on Defected. Her output is very impressive and she clearly lets her music do the talking.
Bedfunk boasts a roster of international talent, so Rona is in great company with the likes of Cleveland Jones & Eman from the USA, Hannah Khemoh, Anna-Marie Johnson, Jodie Erica, George Sida, Leon Dorrill, Richard Earnshaw, Scott Diaz and the South African outfits Soullab & Alpha & Olmega as well as Namibian born Shishani.
Pat has been building his reputation regularly releasing hits on his Bedfunk imprint as well as spreading the love with labels like Rhemi, Quantize, Nervous and Atjazz & Record Company. His productions are steadily supported by top DJ's like Grammy Nominated Booker T, CJ MacIntosh, Groove Assassin, Brandon Block, Groove Assassin, Ronnie Herel, Jamie 326, DJ Romain, Paul Stuart, Colin Williams, Soul Dynamic, The Journeymen, DJ Pope, Jimpster, Lars Behrenroth, Grant Nelson and Richard Earnshaw.
Lost & Found was first aired at Southport Weekender and right from the first play, you could set the crowd singing the catchy chorus. Pat knew he had something a little special and we hope you will agree. Now championed Paul Stuart, The Journeymen, Booker T to name just a few.
