BLOOD RITE by D. R. Lehner

Part book-on-tape and part soundscape, "BLOOD RITE" is a presentation of text and sound that tells the story of a frightening and symbolic ritual, in which a young woman and a narrator excavate themselves and their humanity through The Rite of Bone and The Rite of Blood. Originally composed as a sound design for a theater installation of the same name (performed and conceived by The Phenomenal Animals), Lehner's adaptation pushes the story into wildly and darkly surreal territory. The narration is provided by singer/actor Ryan Acquoatta.
