Deleted Scene by Gary Fieldman

Gary Fieldman is a veteran percussionist and drummer known for his work in the classical, jazz, and improvisatory music fields in and around the Boston area. His new release, Deleted Scene, has him stepping into uncharted territory with two younger musicians, Eliot Cardinaux, an established pianist and poet, and an emerging tenor and soprano saxophonist, Caleb Schmale.

Together, directed by Gary, these three companions weave a course of reflective tension on a 75-minute exodus of wholly unnotated music, save for Eliot's poetry, featured on two tracks, and a single glockenspiel line composed as a subliminal layer for Caleb and the pianist to wend around, as a closing statement on the title track.

The music on this album is based on the principle of improvisation as a process not always commensurate with a final, perfected product, rather as a foundation for others to find what they are looking for within, leaving everything out in the human "open," for raw, and hopefully wonderful experiences with the music.
