Rowboat by Bo Mc$

Rowboat 2016, was captured at the closest possible moment to conception. The only albums I know of that are in this category are Kind Of Blue (Jazz album by Miles Davis) or Story of the Ghost (rock album by Phish). I had five days off from touring during Summer 2015. Both daughters were away at camp so I decided I would record an entire album that week and when the boys picked me up for tour that Friday I would play it for them. The undertaking was originally going to simply be for laughs. I started Sunday evening and right away I made a self-imposed rule: if I couldn't get my idea recorded in 3 takes or less I would abandon that idea. I had no material prepared, no demos, and no ideas on what I would do. I got started right away and in 5 days I had a concept album. Instead of "A Day In A Life" I made an album of "A Life In A Day." A guy is waking up, but he's fighting it. He's having a great dream and he's trying to get back to it. His body won't let him get back and it's awakening him. By the end of the song he is Awake. He finds Hope and that gives him bravery. He goes Outside and discovers so many wonderful things. As happens, the world kicks his butt in every way possible and he becomes Disillusioned. He then goes through a Metamorphosis, considers his faith and family through his Conscience, comes to grips with his wonderful Solitude and being alone yet not feeling lonely. He decides to mow the lawn, and then a big horrible thunderstorm hits. That's when he gets in his Rowboat and gently rows, merrily down the stream.
