Mairéad from Tapestry by BOUDICCA
(Gibraltar, 1988CE)
Motivated by the brutality she witnessed growing up in West Belfast, Mairéad Farrell became an active member of the cumann na gcailini, later the IRA. Mairéad Farrell was murdered in Gibraltar by the British Army in 1988, one of the ‘Gibraltar 3.’ The European Court of Human Rights found Britain guilty of unlawful killing in 1995.
