The prefrontal cortex, also known scientifically PFC, is the front of the frontal lobe of the brain, located in front of the primary motor cortex and premotor cortex.
The typical psychological term for the set of functions assigned to the prefrontal cortex is to the execution system. Executive functions are involved in the ability like distinguish conflicting thoughts, determine good and evil, same and different, determine the consequences of current assets, to work for a certain objective, predict results, do expectations based on actions, and social "control" (suppress stimuli that if not removed can lead to unacceptable social behaviors.
