Day Nine by Buddahat
On New Year's Eve 2021 I had the pleasure of taking part in a Twitch event that broadcast 12 continuous hours of music and video by over 30 artists from around the world. This is my track that featured in that broadcast.
This track was put together in December 2021 during 10 days of covid self isolation.
It is based on George Bush snr's 1989 inaugural presidential speech. It is not a political track but is instead a reflection on our ability to predict and shape the future.
I find the words of the speech quite sad when you compare the world vision being confidently set out in 1989 by the most powerful person in the world with what actually unfolded over the next 30+ years. It's almost a parody of what the world looks like in 2021. It also makes me wonder about what the world will look like in another 30 years time and our ability to shape it.
