Dispatches by Pale Wallace
This song cycle was inspired by the Ken Burns documentary about the American Revolutionary War: two brothers found themselves on different sides of the conflict--one a Loyalist, the other a Rebel; upon recognizing one another in battle from the opposite sides of a river, they swam to the middle and embraced. This is our attempt to construct some kind of a backstory.
