Please fight back
These foolish men,
Single-minded men
Don’t deserve your sweet caress
Look at the mess they’re making

Ever since I was a little boy
Tried to figure out why we destroy
The beauty we see
Cut it down, carve it up
Load up all these trucks
Ship all this stuff to someone, somewhere
Leaving the land broken and bare

Earth, mother
Please forgive
This hottest day
In a hundred thousand years
We know you’ve tried your best to warn
These foolish men, don’t listen.

I think it’s really getting hot now
Hope there’s still some time to cool things down
We’ll just have to see
Empty oceans on the rise
Can’t believe our own eyes
Beaten by our civilisation
How can we call this civilisation?

If Earth could talk
She’d ask the reason
We’ve taken the trees
Damaged the season
Without a way to
Turn things around
Don’t you care about the creatures?
Don’t you feel for the forests?
