it's funny
how people change.
i always stay the same.
i've always been the same.

in first grade,
i fell in love for the first time
with a bully
who picked on me.

and in third grade
i fell in love again
i looked her in the eyes
i didn't say a thing
i never say a thing
i always stay the same

but maybe
it's not that funny
and maybe
i've changed all along
i don't think so
