All that is alive
Has spent a night 
On the side of death.

Feverish and weak now
I'm haunted by the past.

So take me out tonight
Before my thoughts drift to the end.

Maybe we could stay in instead,
And you could shave my head 
with your eyes closed.

A pale luminescence 
Emanating from your ashes
Caught me off my guard 
And stole me from my calm consciousness.

I wish that I could live like you,
Yawny at your fate,

Patiently waiting 
For the apocalypse to come.

Running from a fear 
Of the self 
But there's nowhere left to hide.

So I have to face the broken mirror,
Damaged by my crooked mind.

Lock the door,
Shut it out,
Keep the demons at bay.

Hang your head,
Drop to the floor,
And let it conquer your life.
