UNTIL n'est pas qu'un simple EP. C'est le quatrième chapitre sonore d'un univers post-apocalyptique qui se déploie à travers la musique, l'image et le récit. Derrière le soleil, projet transmédia initié en 2017, revient avec ces quatre titres commencés il y a sept ans au Near Deaf Experience, puis finalisés dans l'urgence créatrice de juillet 2025.

L'EP s'inscrit dans la lignée du post-rock atmosphérique et du shoegaze mélancolique, explorant des territoires sonores où les guitares saturées rencontrent les nappes ambient et les textures expérimentales. Chaque morceau est une strate de ce monde en décomposition, où la beauté persiste malgré la désolation. Et pour la première fois, il y a du chant !

"I fade Away" ouvre l'EP avec des guitares éthérées qui s'effacent progressivement, comme une dernière tentative de retenir ce qui disparaît.

"The end of time" étire le temps musical jusqu'à la rupture, jouant sur les répétitions hypnotiques et les montées progressives caractéristiques du genre. Tout en racontant la fin du monde, ce moment où tout s'effondre, l'acceptation de la fin du voyage.

"I die like a fly" apporte une noirceur brute, presque industrielle - où dans un mélange de clavier, de larsens des voix aiguës cherchent à apparaître une dernière fois - avant que "I will" - reprise iconique de Radiohead - ne referme l'EP sur une note d'espoir fragile. Cette dernière pièce, réarrangée dans l'esthétique cinématographique de Derrière le soleil, transforme le morceau original en hymne crépusculaire, dernier rayon de lumière avant l'obscurité totale.

L'enregistrement a bénéficié de collaborations essentielles : François Merlin (Araki Records), dont l'approche du post-rock jazz expérimental apporte une profondeur instrumentale remarquable, et Tristan Renet (Maps and Foils), et sa grande culture métal et son approche technique du son viennent compléter les intentions plus instinctives de Derrière le soleil. Sans oublier la métrique précise de Lopart, createur du projet Run with the Wolves.

Le mixage et le mastering, assurés par le Near Deaf Experience, confèrent à l'ensemble une cohérence sonore immersive et une dynamique propice aux écoutes au casque comme en live.

Ce nouvel EP pose les fondations musicales d'un projet plus vaste qui culminera en 2026 avec un ciné-concert immersif, où musique live, projections vidéo et narration fusionneront pour plonger le public dans l'univers dystopique de Derrière le soleil.

UNTIL sort le 5 décembre 2025 sur toutes les plateformes de streaming et en version digitale sur Bandcamp.

UNTIL is more than just an EP. It's the fourth sonic chapter of a post-apocalyptic universe that unfolds through music, image, and narrative. Derrière le soleil, a transmedia project initiated in 2017, returns with these four tracks begun seven years ago at Near Deaf Experience, then finalized in the creative urgency of July 2025.

The EP follows in the lineage of atmospheric post-rock and melancholic shoegaze, exploring sonic territories where saturated guitars meet ambient layers and experimental textures. Each track is a stratum of this decomposing world, where beauty persists despite desolation. And for the first time, there are vocals!

"I fade Away" opens the EP with ethereal guitars that gradually disappear, like a final attempt to hold onto what's vanishing.

"The end of time" stretches musical time to breaking point, playing with hypnotic repetitions and progressive builds characteristic of the genre. While narrating the end of the world, that moment when everything collapses, the acceptance of the journey's end.

"I die like a fly" brings a raw, almost industrial darkness - where in a blend of keyboards and feedback, high-pitched voices seek to emerge one last time - before "I will" - the iconic Radiohead cover - closes the EP on a note of fragile hope. This final piece, rearranged in the cinematic aesthetic of Derrière le soleil, transforms the original track into a twilight anthem, the last ray of light before total darkness.

The recording benefited from essential collaborations: François Merlin (Araki Records), whose experimental jazz post-rock approach brings remarkable instrumental depth, and Tristan Renet (Maps and Foils), whose extensive metal background and technical approach to sound complement Derrière le soleil's more instinctive intentions.

The mixing and mastering, handled by Near Deaf Experience, give the whole an immersive sonic coherence and dynamics suited to both headphone listening and live performances.

This new EP lays the musical foundations for a larger project that will culminate in 2026 with an immersive cine-concert, where live music, video projections, and narrative will merge to plunge the audience into the dystopian universe of Derrière le soleil.
