Equilibria’ is a beguiling tropical mirage of life and love..
Equilibria was born from mirages and the repeating cycles that bind us.
Songs and sound pieces that glide through underwater worlds almost remembered from dreams, are filled with complicated scenes that tug at the threads of the illusion of paradise.
Foundling is based in Berlin Germany. Erin Lang (CA)- voice, harp, guitar, Samuel Hall (AUS) - Percussion, Peter Hanson (USA) – Saxophone and Flute, David Georgos (DE)- - Synth and programming, and Constantine Karlis (NZ) – Drums
Made in Berlin Germany on the top floor of a tall house of recording studios in the east of the city near the Spree River, Foundling’s percussionist Samuel Hall created layers of wooden and found percussion, bells, and glasses along with Peter Hanson’s effected saxophones and flutes, while Dino Karlis’ idiosyncratic drumming and David Georgos’ and Erin Lang’s vintage synths support Lang’s ever soft and soothing vocals.
Touching the exotica of the Les Baxter era, the smooth jazz of SADE and Alice Coltrane’s spiritual psychedelia, Equilibria is a swirling wander through sticky exotic nights and hot dreams.
In this gently unravelling illusion of paradise, Equilibria guides you through losses, tragedies, and apparitions while palm trees sway and sunsets are endless beautiful changing purples - you come upon Ouroboros, the snake who has swallowed his tail. It’s rattle sounds at a deep distance hypnotically rhythmic while in a breath you find you are the snake, the cycle, the wave, the photograph, and the memory.
