Silky Road by Sven Wegner

We are thrilled to present the "Silky Road EP" by Sven Wegner, marking his second appearance at FRI and our 36th release. Grounded in the tradition of sampling funk and soul, Sven skillfully reimagines these influences into a fresh, creative, and contemporary house music sound. Once again, he proves his mastery in crafting complex sound collages, heavily relying on tools like filters to shape his unique sonic landscapes.

The EP opens with the buttery-smooth track "Silky Road," which features a groovy, jazzy loop accented by filtered cuts and vocal snippets. The track "You Drop It" maintains the jazzy elements throughout while introducing a fluttery filter effect on the Rhodes keys, spiced with delightful ear candy sound cuts that gives it a spacey vibe. "You Gave Me" continues in a similar vein with a bouncier, slightly jacking yet soulful feel, enriched by high-pitched sample cuts.
Finally, "Homer Street Funk" closes the EP with hypnotic, French-touch vibes wrapped in Sven Wegner's signature flavor.
