Still from Frightful Places by Frightful Places

I held my breath for the ride to Greenpoint where we skipped in a daze 'till someone called us spaced out for putting stickers on the signs. I slept 5 minutes late for work and stood calmly at your window. As the clouds moved in by the river's edge, we felt the light. So can I be still? Take in the breeze in around me like when we were still on youthful days I slept through. We were so still before my life took over. I'll see what I was missing. Maybe there is peace somewhere when Happy Hour ends, making circles in your back lot as you hold flowers in your hands. Holding our breath for a time, or some kind of phase - out on the shore in the hottest month of summer. Still. Let the breeze surround me. I'll see what I was missing.
