The tree cannot stand the forest, because it needs the wind and the sun. It is only a huge network of leaves stretched out in waiting for the wind and the sun. The tree is a wind trap, a sun trap. When it shakes its mane of leaves, roaring and letting arrows of light escape from all sides, it is because the wind and the sun have come to get caught in its net of chlorophyll.
