Driving down to that house
I run out of water
Fainted in the kitchen
Maybe it was weather

Never stop being seen
You get what you bring

Crying in mother’s hands
Early in the morning
Play guitar in the yard
Fall apart

And you look up to see the pyrocumulus has dawned
And you breathe in the smoke until you cannot feel at all

Try to cope ‘till I choke
Then I wrote a poem
So that when you came in
I would win you over

Then we’d drive out to that house
I run down to get it
The hope I had - make me glad
It’s so bad
