Three masters of European improvised music for the first time recorded together in the beautiful acoustics of the historic chamber music hall of the Berlin radio RBB.
This is the first collaboration album of the German Jazz Award (Albert Mangelsdorff Preis) winner Achim Kaufmann on piano and the winner of the first Jazzpreis Berlin Gebhard Ullmann on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet. He released more than 70 CDs as a leader or co-leader and is considered one of Europe's finest improvising musicians, as well as a heavyweight composer of chamber and orchestra music.
Between 2002 and 2018 alone, seven of his CDs were listed in Downbeat Magazine among the best CDs of those years.
