"A film by Gabriele Mencaroni that explores a central theme: fear. Fear in its most primal and visceral form, inescapable and consuming, gripping the human being and dragging them back onto all fours, at the mercy of hysteria. Solitude and alienation force the individual into struggle, paranoia, and dream. Here, images erupt; the instinct of creatures seeps into the weary mind. The desire is to collapse into the earth and sleep.

Guiding the film's atmosphere are adapted tracks by the collective How to Disappear Completely, whose reworked compositions breathe through the images like a distant, subterranean pulse."

The score for this film grew from two pre-existing songs selected early in the director’s process. Those pieces - originally written as standalone works - resonated so deeply with the emotional core of the story that they became the foundation of the entire soundtrack.

Rather than composing around the film in the traditional way, the score was built outward from these two songs. Their harmonic language, textures, and atmosphere shaped every thematic development that followed. Motifs were drawn from their melodic fragments, arrangements evolved from their sonic palette, and the emotional architecture of the film took root in their mood.
At the same time, several tracks on this album were written in direct response to the film itself. Inspired by specific scenes, characters, and narrative shifts, these pieces expand the original material into new emotional territories — echoing, refracting, and deepening the story onscreen.

What began as two independent compositions ultimately became the spine of the film’s musical identity — a score unfolding from a pre-existing emotional truth, and growing in dialogue with the film it now inhabits.
