Slow Disco by Infinite Tiger

Slow Disco brings Infinite Tiger’s beautifully warped sample techniques to a new level with a record that pays homage to an equally warped and equally beautiful world. Building upon a dance floor comprised of obscure French disco samples the tunes at the Slow Disco are feathered and plumped with layer upon layer of synths and guitars to create something that sounds utterly unique yet somehow familiar.

Kicking off with a ghostly sample of author David Foster Wallace which provides the literal and metaphorical abstract for the artistic mission statement of the record, the ten tracks which follow accompany the listener through the ebbs and flows of a night on the town in which you dance to forget the quotidian, cry because you can’t forget, then your come down as the sun comes up.

Recorded and mixed once again under the masterful eye of their Daytoppers label boss Darren Seltmann, the record bears his hallmark sonic traits of wistful nostalgia, crystal clear spectral tapestries and an unimpeachable sense of cheek and irreverence.

The anger and aggression that comprises the Infinite Tiger oeuvre proceeding Slow Disco has given way to an approach that croons pleasantries into the void instead of just shouting at it.
