SIGMATA FM by IRVING FORCE
This is a soundtrack album for the tabletop role-playing game SIGMATA, taking place in a satirical and dystopian vision of 1980s America in which a fascist regime is in control. Players assume the role of Receivers who possess incredible powers when in range of FM radio towers emitting a mysterious number sequence called "The Signal."
As linchpins of the Resistance, the Receivers must take great pains to prevent the alliance from fracturing. If they allow ideology to trump strategy, the factions will fall back on their worst tendencies, handing the Regime the political victories it needs to maintain a stranglehold on the people.
The "SIGMATA FM" soundtrack was a stretch goal during the SIGMATA kickstarter campaign, which managed to reach $40k. I had been wanting to do a more ambient soundtrack for quite some time so when Chad contacted me about this I was stoked to get immersed in the dystopian world of SIGMATA and try to set the mood and tone of it in audio form.
This is a more slow and brooding album than most of my other releases, it's meant to be played in the background while playing the game and not be too distracting. Most of these songs I worked on during my twitch live streams and I had a blast making them: www.twitch.tv/irvingforce
