Between Dreaming by Isuru Kumarasinghe

Around 2010 I was going through a transformation which expose myself and more to understand the environment around me. I was having this feeling the things happening around me and with myself was questionable in personal but socially reflective manner. I started question my music I was involved that time which I couldn't connect to. I questioned the music of musician i was involved with and their actions which I couldn't connected to. So for a while i what i did asking Why? asking this question was really emotional to me because behind that there was an action myself made a trial to what I know as my life, my knowing, my friends, my beliefs, my feelings, way we living.

I believe 'Between dreaming' was a metamorphosis to myself to opens up my ears to listen more carefully into what i hear around me and myself and specially how do i listen to others and understand them.

Isuru Kumarasinghe is a musician and sound artist from Sri Lanka and is based in Colombo. Through a listening practice his work focuses on the experience of sound perception and sound movements. He is a self-taught artist, who creates tools to transmit philosophies of listening, affect and the relationship to the body into sound producing.
