REVIEWS
“ISYSXAE is a new trio featuring saxophonist Tom Chant, drummer Pere Xirau, and guitar god Ferran Fages. hyper nature opens things with a full blitzkrieg where all three artists are moving at 100 mph in the same direction. Chant absolutely wails like this is the last day of his life and Xirau keeps up the whole time. Fages, as ever, is another beast entirely and his guitar work slips between howitzer and bubbling stream, though his tone always has a nice crunch. Quiet moments get surprisingly introspective in various call-and-response structures, but ISYSXAE really shines when they’re bringing the whole damn thing crashing to the ground. This is sonic catharsis.” Brad Rose, bit.ly/foxydigitalis
“Hiper Natura budowana jest wedle pewnej reguły. Krótkie, niespełna dwuminutowe wystrzały armatnie, które gotują się od emocji i czasami zioną niezwykle ekspansywną dynamiką, przeplatane tu są nieco dłuższymi, ale również dość krótkimi formami, czasami zupełnie pozbawionymi tempa, stawiającymi na brzmienie przesterowanej gitary, preparowanego saksofonu i perkusji, która miażdży przedmioty na werblu.” Andrzej Nowak, bit.ly/spontaneousmusictribune
“The choice for a not too long album is understandable given the high density of sounds. There is more happening in this relatively short time than on an average album.” Jan Willem, bit.ly/subjectivisten
“If you're feeling most at home at the fringes of extreme and experimental music this is defo one to add to your collection.” baze.djunkiii, bit.ly/nitestylezde
“This trio offers nine brief and compact pieces, most of which suggest the sonic experience of colliding with a freight train speeding towards you. Chant, Fages and Xirau go for the extreme, hyper and merciless sounds, pushing their respective instruments into the most experimental, unchartered territories as if sensing an upcoming apocalyptic meltdown, but, surprisingly, also sound quite inquisitive.” Eyal Hareuveni, bit.ly/salt-peanuts
