Blasting Occult by Jirolondon

Blasting Occult is my first set of chiptunes. Many of the tracks date back to my student days. I'd just discovered an 8-bit sound plug-in, and this album is a kind of record of my composition sessions, where I'd play around with square and triangular waves into the night. It was also the period when I was often listening to the Castlevania soundtrack, and I wanted to draw inspiration from it. The track '' You should run away '' is the one that most illustrates this influence. The cover is also a reference to the Belmonts saga, with the castle evoking Dracula. Finally, all the track names evoke a bestiary of monsters or death. The spirit of this set of tracks is to accompany a slightly horrific platform game, in the vein of Castlevania, which would have been released on NES in the second half of the 80s.
