Had a dream of a golden key
To a log cabin with a balcony
On a hillside with fireflies
And painted skies that bring tears to the eyes

And downstairs you can pull up a chair
And strum away to just about anywhere
She reads on the loveseat
And in between pages looks up at me

Everybody’s gotta dream sometimes

Everybody’s got a golden key

Everybody’s got different dreams
From the latest things to a baby that breathes
Or a spark of hope that “he won’t leave”
Or “growin’ old’s not as hard as it seems”

Wings to fly (one more day)
Second tries (drive away)
Setting sail ‘til we’re nowhere in sight
Peace of mind (yesterday)
Or turn back time (no more pain)
Just a place I can finally unwind
