this was written in may of 2022. happy birthday, song!
this one's about a mish-mash of things - i was still in the habit of writing a bunch of random, unrelated thoughts down in a single note and then piecing them together when i needed to fit words to a melody so the two verses are about completely different things.
v1 - the volatile nature of admiring a well-known personality despite not knowing or understanding what they're really like behind closed doors. and then being disappointed by the truth. (stop basing your lives off of real human people, they'll only hurt & disappoint you).
chr - wild codependence and how that can affect the basic functionality of your life.
v2 - the scene of a relationship breaking down in public. or not even necessarily in public, but just the idea of it being so messy that it leaks out and interferes the lives of others (or other aspects of your life). vulnerabilty becomes weakness (which just leads to surrender) when the idea/presence of onlookers breaks you down further. but sometimes it's just a thing that happens with a person that you cherish. that passion can bring you closer together. it's probably a bit toxic.
