Cloudy Day by Kevin Haynes
This album is dedicated in memory of our beloved dog, Mama Donna. Mama died of Cancer in November of 2019. The picture on the album cover is from 2009 when she was 3. She was the sweetest dog and Amanda and I will always love her.
The song "Tears of Thread" was written when the Coronavirus first hit hard and had most of the world locked down. By the time I was ready to publish it to the album the tragedy of what happened to George Floyd forced me to add some lyrics in the second chorus to help share my voice for the freedom, justice and equality that ALL people deserve and need. Systemic racism is a virus which can only be cured with major reform. Uniting as one voice is what is needed and this moment in time has shown us that our voice is all we have. If we don't continue to speak out and if we allow our voices to be silenced then the system will continue to suffocate the underprivileged.
We need a future that includes us ALL.

When I'm not freestyling lyrics to songs into the recorder on my phone, I like to write original folk/pop music on ukulele, guitar and piano.
