Acrosome is a five-piece alternative band based in Tokyo. Anchored by a powerful and emotional lead vocal, their sound fuses elements of garage rock, stoner rock, post-punk, and alternative rock from the ’90s onward—creating a heavy, dynamic presence that feels both raw and cinematic.
Formed in late 2024 by three core members of their previous band NEHANN, which had released a full-length album and sold out a headline show at WWW before going on hiatus, Acrosome marks a new beginning.
While inheriting the dark and delicate sonic textures of NEHANN, Acrosome channels a more direct, visceral energy—opening a new phase for the members as a band.
The name “Acrosome” is inspired by the biological term for the acrosome reaction—a process of breaking through barriers—and, true to its meaning, the band delivers sharp, determined sounds that pierce through stagnation.
Founded in 2014, the company released a number of artists from the Japanese underground scene, with a focus on indie ,punk, garage rock and hardcore and We have reissued many of his past works and his selection is trusted by core music fans.
