Boris Alexander de Pfeffel Johnson, rogue, liar and opportunist was one of the most disastrous Prime Ministers in British history. He rode to power on a wave of anti-seriousness just at a time when we needed desperately to get serious. Far from puncturing this buffoon, political satire enabled him, helped create "Boris". Satire, the overbearing British insistence on humour - "you have to laugh" - is duly indicted. This piece tears away the flesh, the jolly, bluff carapace of "Boris" to reveal the selfish, famished, conniving "Alexander" that lurks beneath.
