Alyssa recounts that: "Although this is an old, traditional song, for me it represents the ongoing impacts of colonialism. The lyrics, for example, make fun of the son's king who aims for the black duck but shoots the white one. The ducks symbolize Indigenous peoples, recalling the scars left by a history of exploitation and greed. The refrain reminds us that elements like the wind are our relatives, supporting and sustaining our journeys through life.
