Ashes from Facets by Kylee Brielle

"Ashes" is one of those songs that was born purely from inspiration. In the deep hours of the night, the lyrics came to me very suddenly, and I knew I needed to do something with them.

I put off composing the music for this track for quite some time, until I needed a sort of palate cleanser from my typical style. Branching out from my normal methods and experimenting with different instruments and motifs helped me to stretch some creative muscles that haven't been exercised in too long.

I wanted to put a strong focus on the vocals, so I tried to use the music to support them in an unobtrusive way. The result is something more minimal than my usual fair, with a sleepy, and deceitfully happy arrangement.
