From Home by Late Frequencies
The content in this album was recorded by Jude VC from the home in which he was staying during the COVID-19 outbreak in spring of 2020. The sounds recorded include sounds of the other residents of the house in which he was living as well as the use of objects he had brought with him from home that were familiar to him - some of the only familiar things he had during this time, which from late February to mid-March included familial disagreements that required him to leave the home in which he had stayed for the past five years, an attempt at staying with his partner that was unnecessarily thwarted by said partner's landlord for what were described as "zoning reasons" but are better described by "the type of shit landlords are known to pull", a two-week long stint with homelessness, and a temporarily stable living arrangement that lasted through the end of March.
It was during this last situation that the noise on this album was recorded, with additional semi-musical keyboard inclusions. The noise reflects the everyday circumstances under which he was then living. The distortion reflects how those everyday circumstances were underscored with and in some cases themselves comprised of chaos and uncertainty and unfamiliarity. The melodic parts represent the few pieces of familiarity, even when disordered or disjointed, that he had during this time.
