Undercurrent by Paula Garcia Stone

Linear Obsessional is very proud to release the first album by the noted artist and composer Paula Garcia Stone.

"Undercurrent" is a collection of 9 soundworks, that combine her interest in place (field recordings) and the use of very physical sounds.

Paula is visual artist (with a long relationship with drawing) and a sound artist. whose work often concentrates on amplifying the small and microscopic.

"Over the last 30+ years my work has evolved through painting and lightwork installations to digital imaging and an exploration of nano sounds. It has been based on visualising and hearing the mysterious internal workings of our bodies. It could be described as objective self portraiture and the aestheticising of viscera. We are in an age when our view of ‘the figure’ in art is being completely changed by science and technology.
More recently, my work in the field of soundscape goes further into the human experience, by exploring the spirit of being in a particular space or situation. Daily drawing is also a current preoccupation"
