we got up and went to work
on the shell of our boat
in the harbor

we thought it would be simple but
we found the work much harder
as it's kind of tough
to walk on water
i wish i could walk on water but
only a chosen few
can walk on water

but it didn't really matter cuz
we remembered to bring

the scaffolding

so we employed some immigrants
and found them to be quite pleasant
with a hammer and some lengths of rope
and jesus on our side
we set out
whistling as we worked

in the hot and boiling sun
the work was very hard but the
song we sang
gave us a new lease on life

we sang:

like the Gorton's fisherman
in a boat on the sea

from all that bother(s) me

so we sail far away
with this song in our hearts

and we know we will be
eaten alive
by a band of rubber men
but that doesn't bother me at all

on the hole of the hull
diligently we worked
until the glorious
moment when we looked up
to find the work was now complete

a thing of exquisite beauty
it was now our duty to
retrieve the booty
buried deep
in the sea
very deep
in the sea

we dropped off our friends and
set the sails
for the sea of endless peril
