Oasis by Mahadev

The title song Oasis was written in 2009, it recounts a dream I had after my first ever trip to Joshua Tree, CA. I wrote the basic ideas sitting around Lake Piru, CA and wrote the 1st draft of the horn part while I was deep in study of Macedonian music with Miroslav Tadic. It sat too long, begging me to finally finish it...

Going To The Valley is one of the oldest songs i still perform, written in Jan '95 on Phat Blue singer Kelly Bell's guitar when we were roommates in Baltimore. The song has gone through many iterations - I used to do a very grungy version of it with my band Percy's Little Hotbox in the 90's, Kelly covered it in 2002 on his album "Chasing The Sun", and Rafe Pearlman used to sing it live when i played in his band in 2012-2013. This is my favorite version so far.
