Formed within a week of meeting in the Florida summer of 2000, Safe/Mode is the first of multiple collaborative efforts between Scott Baker & Mark Warren. Safe/Mode's debut release reflects the duo's shared love for artists like Noise Unit, science fiction and horror film scores, and Japanese animation. Safe/Mode were quickly armed with dual Quasimidi Sirius synthesizers, a "Hot Fuzz"-sized DVD collection, and were early adopters of Sonic Syndicate's Orion music production software. Scott and Mark set out to create an experimental industrial sci-fi soundscape worthy of multiple trips to discover new layers on each listen. Long thought forgotten without proper release, the album was resurrected as part of the newly launched label MFCD in January 2019.
