Distopia by Migue Ângelo trio
O Miguel Ângelo Trio é um projeto que explora as possibilidades da música improvisada como extensão do processo de composição, fundindo elementos de diversas estéticas musicais e dando origem a novas sonoridades e texturas. Liderado pelo contrabaixista e compositor Miguel Ângelo, o trio conta com Luís Ribeiro na guitarra e Mário Costa na bateria.
O repertório é constituído por temas originais de Miguel Ângelo, que servem de ponto de partida para a improvisação. Aliando criatividade, espontaneidade e uma profunda empatia musical, o trio constrói um som com identidade própria – forte, livre e descomplexado.

The Miguel Ângelo Trio is a project that explores the possibilities of improvised music as an extension of the compositional process, merging elements from various musical aesthetics and giving rise to new sounds and textures. Led by double bassist and composer Miguel Ângelo, the trio features Luís Ribeiro on guitar and Mário Costa on drums.
The repertoire consists of original compositions by Miguel Ângelo, which serve as a starting point for improvisation. Combining creativity, spontaneity, and deep musical empathy, the trio builds a sound with its own identity – strong, free, and unpretentious.

One of the most active musicians on Porto’s jazz scene. He has recorded and released several albums in recent years under his own name (in quartet, trio and solo), with the collective MAZAM, as sideman with Carlos Azevedo, Pedro Neves, Luís Ribeiro, MAP, Ensemble Super Moderne, among others.
He holds a degree in DoubleBass/Jazz (ESMAE) and a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics (UP).
