This is the second of my orchestral tone poems. It was reviewed by my fellow Australian composer, Christian Laki while holidaying in New York City as follows:
"The work feels like a contemplation in Miguel’s own harmonic language…moods metamorphasise, rhythms are a faint pulse occasionally interrupted by brass stabs…perhaps a metaphor for a dying planet taking its last few breaths…
Miguel, like me favours the asymmetrical however his treatment is less obvious and more organic. Earth’s promise may be to recover despite our callous mistreatment.
Lovely work maestro that I’ll always connect with New York. There is definitely a very positive vibration in this city with an irrepressible hope for the future in the air and your music serves well to add a soundtrack to the experience! "
