Thugging EP by Samuel L Session

Following DJ 3000’s ‘Take Me Away’ featuring an outstanding remix by Truncate which reached No.52 in Beatport’s Techno Top 100 last month, Samuel L Session now returns to the Detroit label with his follow up to last year’s highly merited ‘Fat Wiggler EP’.

While continuing his DJ globetrotting, the SLS man has been back in the studio remixing various artists, as well as producing upcoming singles for Wall Music, Sounds R Us, The Triangle, and of course this new EP for Motech.

As with his previous Motech EP, it begins with two alternative mixes of the same track. But unlike the Chicago flavour of its predecessor, ‘Dusty Diva’ is a beast of a techno cut, whether you go for the smooth Deep Mix, or the Raw Mix for a rougher cut. The other tracks on the EP also deliver a powerful dancefloor punch with ‘Crate Digger’ and ‘Thugging’ bringing some funky yet stomping grooves and, particularly in the case of the final track, an emotional vibe amongst its tough beats.
