Feels Good by NEAL MORGAN
Feels Good is the second single from Neal Morgan's 24-song, 85min pop album PAW, out March 14, 2025.
Electric guitars shimmer, bells sparkle, and a back-of-the-beat drumkit thumps out “Feels Good”. A catchy and beguiling down-tempo head-nodder, it features some of the more visually playful and curious lyrics on PAW.
“‘Feels Good’ is a song of illustrated thanks for true love,” said Morgan. “I’m new to making pop songs like this. One joy I’ve found is that I can thank artists and songs and lyrics that have been important to me through the ways I bring a song to life; with ‘Feels Good’ I was thinking a bit about Smoke-Ring-era Kurt Vile, for example.”
PAW is Morgan’s magnum opus seven years in the making, his first new release of music since 2017. It's the product of a creative pivot to pop music for an artist most known for his work as a drummer for songwriters Joanna Newsom (Have One On Me, Divers), Bill Callahan (Apocalypse), among others, and for his four percussion-heavy previous solo albums.
