Funny how I wrote this when I was sixteen, and yet the message of the song could be said about some of the things that compelled me to make this album twenty years later. Throughout my life I’ve often found it very hard to cut the cycle of ruminating thinking, festering into a deeply insidious unhappiness. Three months after this came my song “Ash,” and the life-altering events that followed.

I’m pretty sure the rain has stopped
And I’m standing now where I once had dropped
To my knees to pray
For one more sunny day
But all my thoughts are of the past
When the world was moving much too fast
For me to stand
Someone hold my hand

Open this window in my mind

So why do memories bring such pain?
