she makes wars cease
she burns pain with fire
when she comes all dressed in black
and the white sorrow blanket becomes
a peaceful green meadow in drugs

and the crunch of my bones
it's a beautiful sound
when she sings her song
she comes in miracles, so pretty at night,
when the stars boil in the dark
she hits me down with her speckled arm
and tear off the rust in my mind

she takes me down
she takes me down,
takes me down to the dungeon stairs

when the night smells of sadness
and the candles go out
she locks me up with a kiss and a scythe

the flames sway on the embers dance floor
the tin chandelier shakes
her humming fills the air in the room
she digs from my ear to my brain
and deep in my head there’s a big blast of lights
and shadows of her skin

ain't rain tonight
inside the bonfire
the mark of dawn shines
and on my knees I praise her sweat shining face
my cup overflows, you've soaked my head
no evil I will fear
