Heavy Falling by Pineross
Heavy Falling is an original commission for the Monsoon Mixtape, a collaboration between artist Alex! Jimenez and Tucson Water that was based around water awareness in Tucson. I was one of 6 producers to incorporate the sounds into a composition. Each artist was given access to an online library of field recordings made by Jimenez, Logan Phillips, Enrique Garcia Naranjo, and members of the community.
"The track Heavy Falling was inspired by the tension/release of the first monsoon of the season. When it gets so absurdly hot and you hear the thunder in the distance but still don't feel a drop of rain. And then it finally hits and the temperature drops and the plants open up and the toads come out and there is a feeling of sweet release." - Kevin Larkin
