This album turned out to be a broad retelling of Homer's 'Odyssey'. However, it is also full of references to other European literary landmarks. It owes a lot to Michel Houellebecq's 'La Possibilité d'une île' (2005) and could in fact be used as a soundtrack to those futuristic abstract chapters of the book.
Musically, I ventured out into a bit more complex, late-romantic territory, trying to evoke memories of Gustav Mahler, Richard Wagner and, ironically, American sci-fi movies of the 80s. The final movement of this symphonic work shares some similar chords with Frank Sinatra's 'My way', which hopefully works quite well in the context of the album's narrative.
This is the third and final part of Universalis' 'Trilogy of Time'.
