Antliens by Actic Lacid
'Actic Lacid' is the synth-driven project of Melbourne-based producer Pat Farnell.
This debut EP explores his take on electro, blending influences of early 90's electronica, bass music, and the character of 80’s synths. It showcases a tactile and hands-on approach to sound creation with clear analogue character and a respect for the foundations of electro.
His production style relies on hardware synths, dusty rack gear, and a stubborn refusal to do things the easy way, often while hiding from real-life responsibilities.
The release is carried by detail, depth, and atmosphere, created through original synth patches, drum sounds, and percussive synth bleeps and bloops.
The EP also pays homage to his late father, ambient producer Peter Farnell (Electric Hand).
