clockwerx EP by satoruohno

satoruohno from Japan presents "clockwerx",
a three-track club-oriented Rhythm Noise EP that was produced
using VCV Rack as the main source of sound.

I aimed to produce a atonal yet somehow catchy beats
through sound design and rhythm structure.
(I have always liked glitchy tracks, but I thought that those sounds were
still being overlooked and seen as just "noisy sounds only suitable for ear candy", compared to conventional sounds.)

~Brief description of tracks~

track 1 "clockwerx"
A club-oriented rhythm noise track with unconventional drums.
I focused solely on the joy of creating a catchy rhythm pattern using VCV Rack, and that process reminded me of an old-fashioned clock.

track 2 "sleng teng arcade"
A glitchy rhythm noise/techno track inspired by that
famous bass line from Dancehall.

track 3 "blips & sequins"
A noisy stomping rhythm noise beat inspired by Voguing on a runway.
The beat was made off of the first clap-like sound, which reminded me of the hand movement in Voguing (A type of dance).
